purring is the characteristic nature of all cats (cat family ) so, all cats including lions, tigers, leopard etc. do purr.
Do all cats purr, even big cats like lions and tigers?
Yes, I think they all do - I think they do a lot of the same things as domestic cats, like play in the same way and wash and hunt the same
Reply:of course they do! It is just that it is a bit diferent to the sound that cats make but it is the same thing.

Reply:the easiest question ever...i'm so sure you have ears and legs..and so take your legs and find the nearest jungle or zoo and put your ears in the mouths of every type of cat you see and u'll surely come back to tell the story okay..best of luck my dear i'll be waiting...cheers
Reply:Yes i believe they all do, especially when they are cubs, i think the adults lower roaring is more of a purr
Reply:I watched a special on Animal Planet or Discovery about cheetahs that were found orphaned in the wild and were being raised in captivity. During one of the interviews with a caregiver, a cheetah was 'cuddling' up against him purring loudly. It was kind of cute despite the possibility of it ripping his face off. So in that instance, I wold say yes.
Reply:I know that lions do, I think that tigers do, but I don't know about pumas and bob cats tho.
