They can never be trained to the point of a domestic cat, but they can be trained to the point where they can be worked with by a handler. You must remember that they are wild animals, and even though it may be a small "cute" kitten, it will grow larger, potentially aggressive, and instincts may take over. I work for a museum in TX, and have raised two bobcats from kittens to adulthood. Normally they were fairly well behaved, however I walked away bleeding more than once, nothing too serious. Sometimes a "bond" may be formed between one specific handler. One of the cats I worked with wouldn't let anyone else in its ( w/out a lot of growling and hissing) cage besides me, the other one preferred our other animal technician. While I will work with them, I never implicitly trust them. Always remember they are wild, and instincts can kick in.
Are big cats like lions, leopards, tigers, bobcats can be tamed?
Even your basic house cat is not tamed by some definitions. It still goes out hunting/killing, you just think it's tame because it's too small to kill you.
Reply:Trained, some what. Tamed, never. They will ALWAYS be wild. I know for sure, I work with them.
Reply:no you can take the cat out of the jungle but not the jungle out of the cat. instinct will eventually take over.
