Reply:Saw a bloke in a bar with a cheetah - I thought "he's trying to pull a fast one!"
Reply:no. lions are tigers that dyed their fur and grew their neck hair for for ages. they are often heavy metal fans and like to headbang whilst tigers like quieter music.
Reply:They are of the same genus, Panthera and they do interbreed.
Reply:You should sneak up behind them and pull their wigs off and expose them as being tigers.
Reply:Why don't you just grab the lion's wig and ask him? Then you'll know for sure.
Reply:No, lions are just David Bowie fans. They all love the "Life on Mars" Vid. Thats why they all got the same haircut and colour!
Reply:Yep!

Just like sharks are goldfish with shiny skins on.

Same thing!

g-day!
Reply:No they are pretty similar but there are many differences between tigers and lions.

Of course in physical appearance; Most tigers have orange coats, a fair (whitish) medial and ventral area and stripes that vary from brown or hay to pure black. The form and density of stripes differs between subspecies, but most tigers have in excess of 100 stripes. The pattern of stripes is unique to each animal, and thus could potentially be used to identify individuals,in general male tigers weigh between 200 and 320 kilograms (440 and 700 lb) and females between 120 and 181 kg (265 and 400 lb). On average, males are between 2.6 and 3.3 metres (8 ft 6 in to 10 ft 8 in) in total length, and females are from nose to tip of tail between 2.3 and 2.75 metres (7 ft 6 in and 9 ft) in length.

Lions are smaller and a bit less stronger. Of course you would notice their color . Lions are brownish yellow The male lion, easily recognized by his mane, can weigh between 150-225 kg (330-500 lb) and females range from 120-150 kg (260-330 lb), and average around 125 kg (275 lb). The largest wild African lion ever shot weighed 313 kg (690 lb), whereas the largest captive lion weighed 366 kilograms (806 lb). Head and body length is 170 to 250 cm (5'7" to 8'2") in males and 140 to 175 cm (4'7" to 5'9") in females; shoulder height is about 123 cm (4') in males and 100 cm (3'3") in females. They are both of the same family Felidae and same genus Panthera but of course different big cat species. They can interbreed so that would indicate that they are really close relatives.

The lion species is panthera leo

and the tiger is panthera tigris

Lions tend to hunt in groups and live in prides while tigers are strictly slolitary so as you can see they are socially different. Lions live in the African savannah and Tigers live in Asia's tropical forests or grasslands.

Hope this helped; there are also anatomical differences but I didn't put them in
