Tiger vs lion... who do you think would win?? because i think i know?

well i know that tigers would probably win like most of the time considering the statistics. i think the fairest fight we could accumulate would be between a bengal tiger and a barbary lion. bengal tigers have shown more ferocity, and are the second largest subspeciea of tiger, as well as the most populated. and barbary lionss although extinct in the wild are the largest subspecies of lion. but tigers are still larger. bengal tigers average around 2.6-3.7m long and around 0.9-1.1m tall at the shoulder and weigh around 400-500+lbs. a barbary lion is around 2.3-3.3m long, 1.2m tall to the shoulder and average 330-450+lbs. tigers have an estimated bite force of around 1,000-1,200lbs, lions around 937lbs. lions are recorded to reach speeds of 30-35mph, tigers 35-40mph and even up to 50mph in the snow! also tigers can jump 15ft high %26amp; 33ft long. lions 8-11ft high and around 20-25ft across. so i'd like your opinions but i rekon a tiger has about a 60-80%win rate.%26amp; its voted worlds fav anima

im with you tiget boy !
Reply:Male lions are better fighters. They have to defend their pride, cubs and food from other lions and predators, being naturally trained.

More, their mane hides the neck, making harder to strike it and tigers aim directly to the neck, so loosing 7/10. Still, they are no kitties and are better hunters. Report It

Reply:probably a tiger

but why do you pose a question, and then proceed in giving a detailed answer?
Reply:1 v 1 a tiger will win most of the time. But lions frequently run in prides.
Reply:tiger
Reply:I think both of them don't fight with each other too often, so it is hard for anyone to tell.
Reply:Tigers are larger, and are more importantly, not group hunters.

The instinct of a single lion is to run, not attack.

Tigers also tend to attack from cover or trees, which would put the ground dwelling lion at a disadvantage.
Reply:whoa what do you read for pleasure
Reply:Depends on enviroment. Tigers, as far as I know, rely on pure stealth for Their kills, and usually hunt solo. They would be sitting ducks in open plains/desert (lions' habitat), where there's very few hiding places/ambush spots for tigers, and where lions hunt with speed and sheer numbers. On the other hand, in a jungle/forest enviroment, where space is cramped, the lions would be easy prey, since the tiger can attack from above/cover (think the movie Predator), and the lions don't have much room to run.
Reply:Lots of facts. I think the tiger would win because it is a solitary hunter and experienced in a one-on-one situation. Lions hunt in groups, called prides. The primary responsibility of the male is to spook the prey and move it toward the females, who do the actual killing. Otherwise the male is pretty lazy, only procreating and eating the choicest pieces from the game the females kill. Of course, the lion could have some experience from fighting with other male lions.
Reply:A Liger would own them both.
Reply:i would have to say a tiger. but neither of them are competition for a liger lol
