Reply:Wow, you're being serious aren't you :(

Thats a shame.
Reply:Heaven help us...and all the exotic "pets" out there in your path. Just because you can purchase an animal and throw a collar or halter on it doesn't mean it's a "pet". Find another way to be the coolest kid on the block that DOESN'T involve an innocent animal being "taken care of" by someone that is not professionally trained who lacks the proper facilities and equipment to handle the animal.

To answer your question, red pandas are not legal to purchase for several reasons, one of them being that they'd rip you to shreds. But I'm sure you knew that. Good luck with that okapi, now!

EDIT: Sarah - I agree with you, but this is exactly the type of person who doesn't give a s--- about the illegal "pet" trade, so long as they get a supercool "pet" to call their own and make everyone jealous...
Reply:Ok Paris Hilton...first of all. How about looking into the legality of the specific animal that you are looking to own. "Cost" is a broad term, and there is the cost to buy the animal, transport the animal to where you live, and the daily cost of keeping it. That means feeding it, cleaning up after it, making sure it has adequate shelter and habitat. Since you don't know that red pandas are not really pandas per se...I'd suggest that you go to the zoo and enjoy the animals. OR look into maybe doing a zoo volunteer worker program that would maybe allow you some other more personal interaction with the animals. Seriously, just let them be because it is people like you that foster the illegal animal trade, encourage poaching, and ultimately take animals from their homes and don't have the resources to maintain them properly.

If you are looking into an exotic "looking" pet how about a bengal cat. It is a normal house cat that looks like a mini-tiger. Or an ocicat - it also is a normal house cat that looks JUST LIKE A MINI LEOPARD. Fennec foxes are super cute too.
Reply:I dont understand why people want to do crazy things like this.

wild animals are wild and guess what, they belong in the wild!

Leave them where they belong, doing anything otherwise is just being cruel to them. And it will normally end up 'biting' you back.
Reply:you can go online yellow pages go to some zoo's some of them are up 4 sale
